Happy Monday! It is snowing here & I would like to know where the sun is!!
Last Thursday Mike and a few buddies went to Salt Lake to watch the Jazz/Lakers basketball game and then drove back home after the game. He got home at 6:00am ~ I told you he would do ANYTHING for basketball!!! They picked a great game to go to so that was good.
Mike has been extremely busy promoting his basketball tournament http://www.sportsarenashootout.com/
Friday night we went to Dillon and Mike played in the alumni basketball game ~ the old guys got beat!!! After the game we headed out in the big town of Dillon and it was great to see everyone. Saturday morning Mike ran the 5K race that was part of alumni weekend ~ I can't remember his time just know that he wasn't happy with it. We got on the road after the race to get back to town to watch Austin & Aidan wrestle. State Freestyle was on Saturday & State Greco was on Sunday. Austin took first and Aidan took third. After wrestling, we met Marcie, Josh and her family at the KC for pizza. It's so awesome that they live close enough to Montana to make frequent trips up here.
Sunday morning I was back at the Civic Center for more wrestling ~ Mike stayed home to watch basketball. Austin took first again and Aidan took 5th. I have to brag one more time ~ Austin took 1st at all 3 State tournaments this year so he's the 103 pound Triple Crown State Champ and not only that, he only lost once all season (in overtime) & every one of his wins was by pin. Very AMAZING!!!
"Two Butte Wrestlers completed their quest for the Triple Crown Award. Austin Lee and Lee Cannon earned the Triple Crown by winning all three state championships in all three styles of wrestling. They each won individual championships last month in Great Falls at the AAU State Folkstyle Tournament, the USAW State Freestyle Tournament on Saturday in Butte, and the USAW State Greco Tournament Sunday in Butte." (article from sports page in Montana Standard)
We're proud of both the boys and their success this season. I do have to say that I'm glad wrestling is over for the year ~ they are very long days.
From one sport to the next, Austin had a baseball game tonight and won. Aidan starts his games in the next week or 2.
Tomorrow is Aidan's 6th birthday. He and Austin are having their party Friday night at the YMCA.
Have a great week and hopefully we will have blue skies and the sun shining one of these days!
